What is an internship?

Internships are full- or part-time opportunities to gain professional experience. An employer may offer a paid internship to an entry-level job seeker to provide the intern with valuable experience, exposure to the business environment and references and network contacts.


Are internships paid?

Student internships can either be paid or unpaid. In some cases, internships are offered to students who earn educational credits for working with an employer for a specified period of time learning about a particular type of business.
