SHRP Resolved to GO GREEN!

So far, these are the actions we have taken in this effort:

  • Post all handouts for monthly programs and conferences  – including PowerPoints and Program Evaluations – online instead of handing them out at the meetings
  • Minimize paper distributions during new member orientation by providing relevant documents via email following the meeting
  • Post notes and handouts for committee and board meetings to website for download by attendees
  • Include Going Green tip to our monthly program announcements
  • Identified a sponsor to contribute recycled paper cups for use at all of our events
  • Secured a sponsorship for reusable coffee mugs to be used at our monthly meetings
  • No longer use plastic bottles when serving lunch
  • Recycle name badges and name badge holders following events

Join our "Going Green" initiative!

SHRP is in need of a few volunteers to work with board member, Jim Barber, who is spearheading our “Going Green” effort.  Our goal is to identify what “going green” means to SHRP and to the SHRP membership and to come up with a mission statement.  Additionally, once we develop the mission statement, you can help us carry out the plan.  Anyone who is interested should send an e-mail to SHRP Headquarters .  Once we have some potential volunteers, we’ll get in touch with you about getting together!

What have you or your company done to go green?
