HR Professionals know how critical it is for them to stay aware of what is going on within their Profession. SHRP offers biannual conferences filled with presentations that ensure our members have the information they need to stay on top of their organization. This includes new laws and regulations, technological advances, and many other current issues that impact HR.
Introduced in 2008, these events have quickly become one of SHRP Members’ favorite socializing opportunities. The Mixers are open to Members Only and draw over 100 registrants. The atmosphere at these events truly epitomizes SHRP’s welcoming culture and grants our members their most-demanded benefit: face-to-face networking.
SHRP’s Monthly Breakfast Meetings offer HR Professionals an outlet for Professional Development and networking. These HRCI-accredited sessions focus on current issues our members need to be aware of.
SHRP is continually looking for new Professionals to join our organization by reaching out to the community and welcoming interested individuals. To further enhance this effort, we hold an annual recruitment event to give the nonmember HR Professionals the opportunity to explore SHRP.
SHRP is a volunteer-driven organization; therefore our volunteers are our most engaged members. We express our gratitude to these active HR Professionals through and annual reception.
Our student member population has doubled in size in over the past year! This group consists of Graduate and Undergraduate students attending Chicagoland universities who are preparing to enter the HR Community. The College Student Pizza Party offers these students a chance to connect with and learn from professionals in the field.
SHRP recognizes the challenge some of our members face getting to our meetings or event. For this reason, we have an active online presence that allows our membership to stay aware of what is going on within SHRP. Our online reach exceeds 3,000 HR Professional in the Chicagoland area.

SHRP offers a variety of courses throughout the year that help participants prepare for the PHR and SPHR Certification Exams. Course participants generally include mid- to senior-level HR Professionals.
Even the most seasoned HR Professional is always eager to learn! SHRP holds full-day workshops throughout the year to introduce new skills or brush-up on existing talents. Registrants range from new professionals to Senior and VP Level HR Professionals.
These members only benefit cater to specific niches of our membership – Members in Transition, Entry-Level HR Professionals, Mid-Level HR Professionals, and Senior-Level HR Professionals.
